Aurora Now - Alerts & Forecast is a Northern Lights app for travelers and skywatchers. It provides accurate aurora forecasts, instant location-based alerts, and clear-sky insights to help you plan real sightings. Core features include customizable push alerts based on KP index and viewing conditions, a live aurora probability map with real-time space weather data, and 24-72 hour forecasts with hourly cloud cover and visibility estimates. Fast, intuitive, and travel friendly, it is optimized for aurora forecast, aurora alerts, Northern Lights tracking, and trip planning.
How to use:
1. Download and open the app, then allow location access or search and add your preferred locations.
2. Create an account to sync favorites and settings across devices, or continue without signing in.
3. Set your KP alert threshold and cloud cover preferences, then enable push notifications.
4. Open the Map or Forecast tabs to view current aurora activity, KP index, and hourly cloud cover for the next 24-72 hours.
5. Save favorite locations for upcoming trips and check the forecast timeline to choose the best viewing window; adjust alert settings as you travel.
