1. Download and install the app, then open Proton VPN on your device. 2. Create a Proton account or sign in, and choose a free or paid plan as needed. 3. Tap Quick Connect for the fastest server or select a country and server manually, then wait until the status shows Connected. 4. Open Settings to enable Kill Switch, turn on NetShield to block ads and trackers, use Split Tunneling to choose which apps go through the VPN, and enable Secure Core for extra protection when needed. 5. Optimize and automate: switch VPN protocol in Settings if speeds vary, add favorite servers for quick access, and set Auto-connect on untrusted Wi-Fi for always-on security.
